Hampyeong County, Jeollanam-do announced on the 27th that it has conducted hygiene training to improve the hygiene standards and enhance the quality of service at local dining establishments.
This group hygiene training for existing general restaurant operators was organized by the Hampyeong County branch of the Korea Foodservice Industry Association. The training, a mandatory legal requirement under the Food Sanitation Act, was prepared to raise the hygiene standards of dining businesses in Hampyeong County.
About 200 food service workers from Hampyeong County attended the training. The program covered topics such as the direction of food sanitation policies and explanations of the Food Sanitation Act, as well as laws and precautions that general restaurant operators must be familiar with.
In addition, to ensure the successful hosting of the 27th Hampyeong Butterfly Festival, the training also included food poisoning prevention management and customer service education. Participants pledged to provide dining culture services that would satisfy tourists.
Aside from this training, the county plans to strengthen its safe food hygiene management capabilities by promoting food culture improvement projects such as 'Sharing Dishes' and 'Operating Good Menus' at 338 local restaurants. It will also provide food poisoning prevention education and consulting for residents at village halls.
County Governor Lee Sangik said, "In celebration of the 27th Hampyeong Butterfly Festival, we will strive to provide safe and friendly food to fully satisfy the senses of visitors to Hampyeong," adding, "We will continue to do our best to improve food culture and prevent food poisoning."
