Honam University Department of Clinical Laboratory Science Visits Companies for Customized Employment Services for Students

The Department of Clinical Laboratory Science at Honam University (headed by Jang Yuji) announced on the 27th that it recently conducted a company visit to the Gwangju Institute of Forensic Science as part of the "Customized Employment Service for Students" (Jaematgo) program organized by the University Job Plus Center.

This visit targeted second-year students, who visited the Gwangju Institute of Forensic Science to understand how science is utilized in criminal investigations and to observe various experiments and analysis processes conducted at the institute.

The students visited the Genetics Analysis Division, Toxic Chemistry Division, and Forensic Medicine Division, where they received explanations about the analytical processes carried out in various fields. In particular, techniques actually used at crime scenes, such as DNA analysis, fingerprint identification, bloodstain pattern analysis, autopsy, drug analysis, and poison analysis, were introduced, drawing significant interest.

Department head Jang Yuji stated, "This visit went beyond a simple tour, increasing clinical laboratory science students' interest in forensic science and providing a valuable opportunity to nurture their dreams as future researchers," adding, "We hope that such visit programs will continue to be held, serving as opportunities to highlight the importance of contributing as professional researchers in the field of clinical laboratory science."
