In his congratulatory speech, Mayor Shin said, “I deeply thank all social workers who silently dedicate themselves in the welfare field,” and added, “It is personally meaningful that the day commemorating the enactment of the ‘Act on the Treatment and Status Improvement of Social Workers, etc.,’ which I sponsored as a member of the National Assembly, has been designated as Social Workers' Day.”
He continued, “Seongnam City will continue to do its best to improve treatment and promote the rights and interests so that social workers can work with pride in the welfare field.”
The ceremony began with a special lecture on the history of social workers by instructor Choi Tae-sung and a congratulatory performance by the municipal choir, followed by the presentation of awards, congratulatory speeches, and a commemorative photo session.
