Delivered to the Korean Red Cross for Recovery in Special Disaster Areas
such as Gyeongnam and Ulsan... "A Small Help for Residents"
GS Group donated 1 billion KRW to support wildfire damage relief efforts in the Yeongnam region.
On the 27th, GS announced that it had donated 1 billion KRW to the Korean Red Cross for wildfire damage relief. The donation will be used for wildfire damage recovery in special disaster areas including Sancheong-gun and Hadong-gun in Gyeongnam, Uiseong-gun in Gyeongbuk, and Ulju-gun in Ulsan. A GS representative stated, "We hope this small help will comfort the pain of the affected residents and assist those going through difficulties," adding, "GS will continue to do its best to support recovery efforts for disaster-vulnerable groups and those affected."
In addition to the group-level donation, each GS affiliate is also engaging in activities to overcome the damage. GS Retail has provided an additional 14,000 emergency relief items to support local residents affected by the wildfire and on-site recovery personnel. Earlier, on the 23rd, relief supplies were provided to Sancheong-gun in Gyeongnam and Uiseong-gun in Gyeongbuk, and with the damage spreading, additional support was decided.
GS Retail delivered relief supplies such as bottled water, cookies, instant noodles, and travel kits to affected residents, firefighters, and volunteers. Notably, the GS25 Daegu-Gyeongbuk Store Owners Association voluntarily participated in this support. GS Retail plans to continuously monitor the damage situation and respond promptly if additional support is needed.
GS Retail, based on its extensive business infrastructure including convenience stores GS25 nationwide, home shopping GS Shop, supermarket GS The Fresh, and logistics centers, is leading efforts to strengthen the community safety net through rapid relief activities in the event of disasters.
