Gyeonggi Tourism Organization Promotes Collaborative Projects with Munsan Free Market and Fair Camping

The ‘Pyeonghwa Nuri Camping Site,’ directly managed by the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, signed a business agreement with the Munsan Free Market Merchants Association on the 27th to actively promote cooperative projects aimed at spreading fair camping culture and revitalizing the local economy.

This agreement was established to encourage visitors to the Pyeonghwa Nuri Camping Site to consume within the local area, thereby contributing to increased sales for traditional markets and local small business owners, as well as revitalizing the regional economy.

In particular, a ‘Fair Camping Accommodation Discount Program’ will be pilot-operated from April 1 to December 31, allowing campers who submit receipts of purchases made at Munsan Free Market to receive discounts on weekday accommodation fees.

If campers bring receipts stamped after purchasing a certain amount or more at Munsan Free Market, they can receive up to a 20% discount on weekday accommodation fees at Pyeonghwa Nuri Camping Site.

The discount rates are applied according to the amount spent: ▲5% for purchases between 30,000 KRW and less than 50,000 KRW ▲10% for purchases between 50,000 KRW and less than 100,000 KRW ▲20% for purchases of 100,000 KRW or more.

However, to apply the camping accommodation discount, receipts from Munsan Free Market must be submitted within 7 days of purchase.

The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization will also conduct various cooperative programs linking camping with the local traditional market in collaboration with Munsan Free Market.

Twice a year (in May and October), a farm market will be held at the camping site with participation from local small business owners and traditional market merchants, supporting direct sales of fresh agricultural products and specialties. Campers will have the opportunity to experience local agricultural products and food, while merchants are expected to secure new sales channels.

A representative from the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization stated, "Pyeonghwa Nuri Camping Site is striving to build a sustainable tourism model that grows together with the local community beyond just providing accommodation." He added, "Through this agreement, we hope to foster a culture where campers naturally use local traditional markets and commercial districts, thereby providing tangible benefits to the local economy."

Meanwhile, fair camping refers to a style of camping that enjoys the nature and culture of the travel area, contributes to the local economic revitalization through consumption, and makes efforts to protect the environment.
