LH Launches Fall Accident Prevention Campaign... Safety Headquarters Chief Inspects Construction Sites

Special Management for High-Risk Facilities

Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) recently announced on the 27th that it conducted a fall accident prevention campaign at a construction site in Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do.

Lee Sang-jo, head of LH's Smart Construction Safety Headquarters, visited the Hwaseong Taean 3 B3 block construction site and boarded a lift to directly inspect the facilities. He stated, "We will strengthen the facility inspection standards to reliably prevent fall accidents, which are one of the major types of accidents at construction sites. We will also continue to promote on-site safety education."

On that day, a demonstration of smart safety equipment that analyzes workers' biometric data such as electrocardiograms and pulse to quickly detect abnormal signs was conducted. A special safety inspection of high-risk facilities was also carried out together with external experts.

For facilities with a high risk of falls such as tower cranes, lifts, and scaffolding, safety accident prevention rules were reiterated, and safety signage developed by LH was installed. LH explained that the safety signage enhances visual effects with intuitive warning phrases such as 'Caution: Fall Risk' and 'No Entry' so that workers can clearly recognize hazardous areas.

Meanwhile, this campaign was prepared as part of the 'Construction Site Fall Accident Prevention Measures' announced by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in February.
