SparkLabs Invests in Polymerize,
an AI Material Informatics Solution Provider
Supporting Efficient R&D with Data-Driven Predictions
Accelerator SparkLabs announced on the 27th that it has invested in Polymerize, an artificial intelligence (AI) solution company for new material research and development. This investment is the first that Polymerize has attracted in Korea.
Founded in Singapore in 2020, Polymerize is a company that provides material informatics solutions supporting efficient new material research and development processes through data-driven prediction in the form of Software as a Service (SaaS).
Polymerize operates more than 35 proprietary AI machine learning models combined with specialized chemical knowledge data. Its feature is that researchers only need to input information about compositions, raw materials, and process methods to derive expected experimental results with an accuracy approaching 95%.
Through this, Polymerize’s customers can reduce development time by up to 50% compared to the traditional method of repeating numerous experiments to find the optimal material. They can also grasp complex experimental data at a glance and manage it systematically through a separately provided dashboard.
Polymerize, which operates local branches in Singapore, Korea, Japan, China, and other countries, has currently verified its proprietary material informatics technology with more than 80 global companies. With this investment, it plans to expand its application range to various industrial fields such as ▲battery ▲semiconductor ▲3D printing ▲textile ▲plastic ▲cosmetics.
Kim Yujin, CEO of SparkLabs, said, "Traditional research and development methods have structural limitations that consume a lot of time and cost, so Polymerize’s AI technology can help resolve these issues." He added, "We will actively support Polymerize to establish itself stably by collaborating with domestic companies."
