A startup-focused university is a regional startup ecosystem hub institution that utilizes the university's excellent startup infrastructure to support local startups and activate university-originated startups. Currently, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups has designated 11 universities with outstanding startup support capabilities by region as startup-focused universities to support regional startups and university-originated startups through universities.

This year's Campus Startup Springboard was held on the morning of the 27th at the Chungbuk National University Industry-Academic Cooperation Technology Center, attended by 11 startup-focused universities including Chungbuk National University and Chonnam National University, which were newly selected as startup-focused universities this year, along with the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development. The Campus Startup Springboard program included presentations on support strategies for newly designated startup-focused universities and sharing of successful young startup cases, symbolizing the university's role as a regional startup springboard and encouraging the energetic challenges of young people in spring.

The institutions attending the business agreement ceremony agreed to mutually cooperate to activate university-originated startups and serve as regional startup hubs. They also agreed to actively connect and support resources possessed by universities, such as startup infrastructure and investment funds, to strengthen the capabilities of startup companies.

Oh Young-joo, Minister of SMEs and Startups, said, "We will spare no support so that universities can faithfully fulfill their role as hubs of the regional startup ecosystem and as a cradle for youth startups producing innovative startups through the excellent human resources and technology of startup-focused universities." He added, "We expect that startup-focused universities will establish themselves as practical startup support entities in the region and serve as a foundation to help startups grow stably."
