Comprehensive Inspection of 64,528 Facilities Across the City
Expected to Improve Daily Convenience and Emergency Response Capabilities
Seongnam City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Shin Sang-jin) announced on the 27th that it will conduct a comprehensive inspection of a total of 64,528 address information facilities installed throughout the city, including road name signs, building number plates, basic number plates, and object address plates, to enhance the accuracy of the road name address system and convenience for citizens.

This survey will focus on thoroughly checking the maintenance and management status of the facilities and promptly repairing outdated or damaged facilities to increase the utilization of road name addresses. In particular, the installation status, readability, and location accuracy will be carefully verified to develop effective improvement measures.
Address information facilities are more than just simple signs; they are essential infrastructure supporting citizens' daily lives and urban safety. Accurate address information plays a significant role not only in rapid response during emergencies but also in improving daily convenience.
Last year, Seongnam City conducted a full survey of 66,691 address information facilities and replaced or repaired 3,746 of them. This year as well, the city plans to continue thorough inspections to promptly repair worn and damaged facilities and carry out maintenance work to enhance the efficiency of road name address usage.
A Seongnam City official stated, “Address information facilities are essential infrastructure directly connected to citizens’ lives. Through this comprehensive inspection, we will ensure the safety of the facilities and do our best to maintain and manage them so that road name addresses can be used more conveniently.”
