Lee Jaemyung Acquitted on Appeal: Commentary
"Promise to Dismiss Yoon and Establish a New Democratic Government"
Lee Jaejong, the candidate for Damyang County Governor from the Democratic Party of Korea, stated on the 26th, "Candidate Lee Jaejong and the people of Damyang will end the era of corrupt political prosecutors together with Representative Lee Jaemyung, who has overcome the harsh chains of unjust justice."
On this day, regarding the appellate court's not-guilty verdict for Democratic Party leader Lee Jaemyung, candidate Lee commented, "This verdict, which has set judicial justice right, will be recorded in constitutional history," and emphasized, "It is a death sentence for the prosecution dictatorship and a signal marking the end of the era of corrupt political prosecutors."
He continued, "Today's not-guilty verdict also shows that the unscrupulous loyalty of political prosecutors, who tried to eliminate their rival under the traitor Yoon Sukyeol, has been broken by the principles and common sense of the Korean courts," and pointed out, "Political prosecutors, who have become the hunting dogs of power and obsessed only with indiscriminate hunts against democratic forces through selective justice and selective indictments, must now be dismantled."
He also said, "Although this verdict was the obvious outcome, I could never trust the prosecution, which has allowed the traitor Yoon Sukyeol to roam the streets in broad daylight," and asserted, "Representative Lee Jaemyung and the Democratic Party can restore the collapsed national system and revive the devastated people's economy."
Meanwhile, candidate Lee added, "I will continue to fight until the traitor Yoon Sukyeol is removed from office, and I promise to establish a new democratic government together with Representative Lee Jaemyung," and "I send my deepest comfort and applause to Representative Lee Jaemyung, who has stood at the forefront and defended democracy alongside the people, bravely resisting the harsh oppression of political prosecutors."
