Gokseong County to Hold 'Experience Rural Life' Event Until the 27th

Gokseong County held a "Farming and Fishing Village Experience Event" for prospective return-to-farm and rural migrants over a three-day period starting on the 25th. Provided by Gokseong County

Gokseong County in Jeollanam-do (Governor Jo Sangrae) announced on the 26th that it is holding a "Taste of Rural Life Event" for prospective return-to-farm and return-to-village settlers, running for three days starting from the 25th.

This event is designed to help future settlers experience Gokseong firsthand and deepen their understanding of rural life. It features a variety of programs that allow participants to explore agriculture, local culture, and specialty products. Attendees gain practical information and experience for relocating to the countryside, as well as an opportunity to discover the potential of Gokseong directly.

Participants visited prominent return-to-farm households, including the blueberry farm in Jewol-ri, Ip-myeon (run by Lim Junseop), and the European lettuce farm in Soryong-ri, Okhwa-myeon (run by Lee Sugyeong), where they experienced rural life firsthand. They also stayed at the Mokhwa Rural Experience and Healing Village in Gyeom-myeon, attended special lectures and counseling sessions, and participated in apple cultivation education and tofu and biji (soy pulp) making at the Osan Ojibong District Rural Experience and Healing Village.

Governor Jo Sangrae stated, "This event is meaningful as it provides those considering a return to rural life with a valuable opportunity to directly experience the region's unique characteristics and the realities of rural living. I hope participants will discover various local policies and support through direct communication with residents, and gain confidence in actually relocating to the countryside."
