Vision AI specialist company CUBox announced on the 26th that it has changed its name to ‘Siseon AI’ (hereinafter referred to as SiseonAI).
At the regular shareholders' meeting held at the headquarters on the same day, the company confirmed the name change and decided to expand and strengthen its business based on AI video recognition technology under the corporate identity of 'SiseonAI'.
The new name 'SiseonAI' includes the word ‘secern,’ which means ‘to distinguish, to discriminate.’ It implies the expertise and competitiveness of the core AI-based video recognition technology. Through the Korean Sino-Korean word ‘Siseon,’ it also carries the meaning of ‘to see.’
In addition to the name change, the regular shareholders' meeting added new business objectives such as AI-based video diagnostic medical solutions and medical device development. To foster the business, Director (Vice President) Oh Jung-wan was appointed.
Vice President Oh previously served as a researcher in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital, a researcher at POSTECH’s Biotechnology Research Institute, a director at Purimed, a bio-venture specializing in new drug development, and CEO of Motegainnovative. He is determined to lead SiseonAI’s AI video diagnostic medical solutions and medical device business, explore various business opportunities, and enhance the company’s competitiveness and corporate value.
The company plans to enter the AI medical and bio market as part of a strategy to diversify the application scope of AI video recognition technology and create new growth engines. Based on its independently developed core AI-based video recognition technology, it will develop solutions that analyze vital signs such as heart rate, respiration, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation to predict cardiac arrest or detect early warning signs for asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients. The company plans to actively pursue research, development, and commercialization of AI video diagnostic medical solutions and AI video diagnostic medical devices in partnership with major domestic hospitals and multinational medical device companies overseas.
Following the results of this shareholders' meeting, the company plans to establish a foundation for a new leap forward by diversifying its portfolio through its existing core businesses?▲ AI video recognition security solutions and systems, ▲ AI manufacturing and logistics robot business through its subsidiary UON Robotics, and the strategic new business ▲ AI medical and bio business?leveraging synergies across these fields.
