World Vision, an international relief and development NGO (Chairman Jo Myunghwan), announced on the 26th that it will carry out emergency relief activities worth a total of 500 million KRW to help children and disaster victims affected by the large-scale wildfires in the Gyeongnam and Gyeongbuk regions. For the initial response, 150 million KRW will be allocated for blankets and emergency relief kits, and about 350 million KRW will be invested in emergency living expenses and reconstruction support.
Earlier, the World Vision Gyeongnam-Ulsan Business Headquarters and Daegu-Gyeongbuk Business Headquarters urgently delivered 1,000 blankets on the 31st to disaster victims in Sancheong, Gyeongnam, and Uiseong, Gyeongbuk. In addition, 1,000 emergency relief kits worth 120,000 KRW each were prepared to support food and hygiene, and these will be distributed to disaster victims in Sancheong and Uiseong on the 31st. World Vision is closely monitoring the damage situation and preparing to provide emergency living expenses and support funds for home appliances and furniture to low-income families, as well as programs to support the psychological and emotional recovery of children and residents.
