Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC, President Shin Changho) is providing emergency disaster recovery funds to the Gyeongsang region to support restoration efforts in areas severely affected by large-scale wildfires.
On the 26th, BMC delivered 5 million KRW to the National Disaster Relief Association to support the Gyeongsang region (Sancheong in Gyeongnam, Ulju in Ulsan, Uiseong in Gyeongbuk, and Hadong in Gyeongnam), which has been declared a special disaster area due to wildfire damage. These funds will be used for the restoration of wildfire-affected areas and to support the housing stability and daily lives of displaced residents.
BMC previously provided wildfire recovery donations for the Gangwon and Gyeongbuk regions in 2022, and for the Gangneung area in Gangwon Province in 2023.
Shin Changho, President of Busan Metropolitan Corporation, stated, "We hope our support will help the Gyeongsang region, which has suffered extensive wildfire damage, recover quickly and assist displaced residents in returning to their daily lives. The corporation will continue to practice sharing and community engagement in the future."
