Taean-Anseong Expressway Speeds Up... MOLIT Requests Private Investment Feasibility Study Route map of Taean-Anseong Expressway.

The construction project for the Taean-Anseong Expressway in Chungnam, which is being promoted through private investment, is expected to gain momentum.

According to Chungnam Province on the 26th, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport recently requested a feasibility study on the Taean-Anseong Expressway project from the Korea Development Institute (KDI).

Once the study is commissioned, unless there are special circumstances, the review is expected to begin within 30 days and take at least nine months to complete.

The private investment eligibility study is a procedure similar to the preliminary feasibility study conducted by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and if passed, the project will be confirmed for implementation.

The Taean-Anseong Expressway will stretch 94.6 kilometers from Taean-eup in Taean County, passing through five cities and counties in the province including Seosan, Dangjin, and Cheonan, and reaching Anseong in Gyeonggi Province, with a project budget of 3.7 trillion won.

The provincial government expects that, once the expressway is completed, it will connect six major roads?Seohaean Line, Seosan-Yeongdeok Expressway, Western Inland, Dangjin-Cheonan, Gyeongbu Line, and Pyeongtaek-Jecheon?thereby improving transportation accessibility between the west coast, inland areas, and the Seoul metropolitan area.

A provincial official stated, "We expect that the expressway, by linking with major local hubs such as the Bay Valley Circular Expressway, Seosan Airport, and Cheonan Future Mobility National Industrial Complex, will contribute to balanced regional development and the revitalization of tourism along the west coast."
