According to the National Library of Korea, the recent revamp improved intuitive design and personalized features. Visibility was enhanced so users can easily check the public libraries they are registered with and their borrowing status at a glance. Additionally, based on data from 2010, the service provides individual borrowing histories and the most borrowed books by each library. Customized book recommendations are also offered according to gender, age, and reading preferences.

Various activities that users can participate in after reading have also been prepared. Programs such as writing reading journals, book discussions, and reading quiz competitions are planned.

The Chaegieum Service is a project that enables the use of all public libraries nationwide with an integrated membership card. It started in 2010 and is currently used by 6 million people across 2,752 public libraries.

Kim Kyung-young, head of the Information Technology Infrastructure Division at the National Library of Korea, stated, “By 2026, we plan to expand the Chaegieum Service to small libraries,” adding, “We are considering introducing a service that allows book borrowing reservations at participating libraries nationwide through an integrated loan reservation channel.”
