SK Donates 2 Billion Won for Wildfire Damage Recovery... Also Provides Communication and Battery Support

Member Companies Join Relief Efforts
Providing Tents, Mats, and Wi-Fi Services

SK Group will provide donations worth approximately 2 billion KRW and relief supplies to residents in Gyeongnam, Gyeongbuk, Ulsan, and other areas severely affected by large-scale wildfires.


On the 26th, SK Group announced that it will deliver donations and relief supplies worth about 2 billion KRW to the Community Chest of Korea and the National Disaster Relief Association to aid in recovery from the wildfire damage and support displaced residents. The donations will be used for restoring the affected areas and assisting local residents.

In addition, SK member companies have also joined relief efforts. Since the 23rd, SK Hynix has been providing 800 sets of relief tents and floor mats, as well as 1,500 relief kits, to displaced residents in Hadong-gun, Gyeongnam, and Yeongdong-gun, Chungbuk, through its Hi-Safety project. Hi-Safety is a program initiated by SK Hynix with an annual contribution of 600 million KRW to support disaster victims in the event of emergencies.


Furthermore, SK Telecom, SK Broadband, SK On & Service, Home & Service, and other telecommunications affiliates have been operating support booths since the 22nd at temporary housing facilities for displaced residents, such as Danseong Middle School in Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam, and Uiseong Gymnasium in Uiseong-gun, Gyeongbuk. They are providing Internet TV (IPTV) and Wi-Fi services, as well as relief supplies including mobile phone chargers, portable batteries, and wet wipes.


An SK Group representative stated, “We hope the wildfire will be extinguished quickly to prevent further damage, and we will support displaced residents to return to their daily lives as soon as possible.” They added, “SK Group plans to actively engage not only in monetary donations but also in various recovery support activities.”
