Supplying 4GWh of Residential ESS Over Five Years
LG Energy Solution is teaming up with global energy management company Delta Electronics (Delta) to target the U.S. residential energy storage system (ESS) market.
LG Energy Solution announced on the 26th that it has signed a "strategic partnership" with Delta. Through this collaboration, LG Energy Solution plans to supply a total of 4GWh of residential ESS batteries over five years from this year through 2030. This amount of power can supply more than 400,000 households (based on four people per household) for one day. Furthermore, they plan to explore cooperation not only in residential but also in power grid and commercial ESS markets in the future.

Delta Electronics is a global energy management company with major clients such as Tesla and Apple. It produces various power conversion devices including inverters and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and recently has been working with major automakers to build electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
The batteries to be supplied by LG Energy Solution will be produced locally in the U.S. To actively respond to the rapidly growing North American ESS market demand, LG Energy Solution will establish an ESS production line at its Michigan Holland plant and begin producing lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries for ESS in the second half of this year.
The two companies expect to strengthen competitiveness in the rapidly growing U.S. residential ESS market through the synergy of LG Energy Solution’s "technological leadership and local production capabilities" and Delta’s "electronics, power, and energy management system technologies."
Kim Hyung-sik, Executive Director of LG Energy Solution’s ESS Battery Division, said, "Through a high-efficiency all-in-one solution combining the technologies of both companies, we will provide differentiated customer value and competitive products, paving the way for a sustainable residential energy environment in the U.S."
Mike Wang, General Manager of Delta Electronics’ PVI Business Unit, said, "Through cooperation with LG Energy Solution, we can provide more innovative integrated energy solutions to U.S. consumers. This collaboration will support effective production and storage of renewable energy at home, contributing to energy cost reduction and the realization of a sustainable future."
