Monthly Seminars to Be Held Over the Next Six Months
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, together with the Korea Culture and Tourism Institute (KCTI), will hold the first 'Seminar on the Promotion Plan for the Hall of Fame for Popular Culture and Arts' at 3 p.m. on the 26th at the Korea Press Center.
The Ministry plans to hold seminars once a month for about six months to gather opinions from various sectors, including popular artists. Through this consultation, they aim to establish the Hall of Fame as a commemorative space encompassing all fields of Korean popular culture and arts, as well as a complex cultural facility for archiving and education.

At this seminar, the meaning of establishing the Hall of Fame for Popular Culture and Arts will be discussed together with the Private Promotion Committee for the Hall of Fame for Popular Culture and Arts.
Following the opening remarks by Minister Yoo In-chon of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Senior Research Fellow Chae Ji-young of KCTI will deliver the first presentation titled "Why the Hall of Fame for Popular Culture and Arts Now?" This will be followed by the second presentation, "The Hall of Fame for Popular Culture and Arts as Told by Popular Artists," by actor Yoo Dong-geun, a member of the Private Promotion Committee.
Next, a roundtable discussion to listen to policy proposals and field opinions will take place. Professor Ko Jung-min of Hongik University will chair the session, joined by experts in culture, arts, and economics, as well as members of the Private Promotion Committee.
Minister Yoo In-chon stated, "When not only the government but also popular artists show active interest and receive public support, the representativeness of the 'Hall of Fame for Popular Culture and Arts' will be solidified, and continuous momentum can be maintained throughout the promotion process. I hope that various opinions will be exchanged at this seminar and that a consensus on the necessity of establishing the 'Hall of Fame for Popular Culture and Arts' will be formed."
