Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft (MS), visited South Korea for the first time in two years to discuss collaboration in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) with business leaders and startup representatives.

According to the IT industry on the 25th, Nadella arrived at Seoul Airport and met with Suh Kyung-bae, chairman of Amorepacific, at a location in Seoul.


Amorepacific executives, including CEO Kim Seung-hwan, also attended the meeting, where they exchanged opinions on ways to apply AI technology to the beauty industry.


He also reportedly met with Kim Young-seop, CEO of KT, and Chung Ki-sun, Senior Vice Chairman of HD Hyundai, at KT's Gwanghwamun headquarters.


CEO Kim discussed with Nadella the advancement of a Korean-style AI model that the two companies are collaborating on, as well as projects to enter the public sector through a secure public cloud. KT and MS have agreed to jointly invest 2.4 trillion won over five years and plan to launch the public secure cloud domestically in the second quarter.


Following this, Nadella met with Choi Yong-ho, CEO of Galaxy Corporation, the agency of G-Dragon, to discuss collaboration in the enter-tech industry, including producing artist music videos using OpenAI's video generation model 'Sora.' Galaxy Corporation is planning a solo concert for G-Dragon next year at 'The Sphere' in Las Vegas, USA. They plan to seek global expansion of the enter-tech industry by combining AI and artist performances in cooperation with MS.


Satya Nadella, MS CEO, came to Seoul to attend the 'MS AI Tour' on the 26th, where he will present AI technology strategies and visions. At the event held at the Yangjae aT Center in Seocho-gu, Seoul, under the theme 'AI for Everyone,' he will deliver a keynote speech titled 'Leading Change in the Era of AI Innovation.'


Following the event, meetings are also scheduled with Cho Joo-wan, CEO and president of LG Electronics, and Kang Seok-hoon, president of the Korea Development Bank.
