With the attendance of policy advisory group members and working council members, the meeting discussed two main agenda items: ▲ cooperation for creating a safe environment for Personal Mobility (PM) use ▲ requests for cooperation to expand recruitment and activation of Parent Police and Green Mothers' Association.
The agenda on 'Creating a Safe Environment for Personal Mobility (PM) Use' addressed measures against the increase in accidents caused by students using PMs without licenses. Proposed measures included the introduction of a license authentication system for shared PMs, strengthening crackdowns on illegal parking around schools, and reinforcing PM bans in specific locations to ensure pedestrian safety.
Regarding the 'Activation Plan for Parent Police and Green Mothers' Association,' various opinions were discussed to resolve the decline in membership of these organizations after COVID-19 due to factors such as the increase in dual-income couples and social causes. These included enhancing promotion at the beginning of the semester, expanding activity support budgets, and supporting the production of educational materials.
Lee Kyung-ja, Secretary General of the Gyeonggi-do Northern Autonomous Police Committee (Chairperson of the Working Council), stated, "Since Personal Mobility (PM) and the activities of Parent Police and Green Mothers' Association are important matters related to the safety of residents, we will strengthen cooperation among related agencies," adding, "We will further expand the role of autonomous police working together with the community."
Meanwhile, the Gyeonggi-do Northern Autonomous Police Committee Working Council is a legal consultative body operated quarterly among related agencies such as the Gyeonggi Provincial Government, Gyeonggi Northern Police Agency, and Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education. It functions as a practical discussion forum at the department head (manager) level to facilitate smooth operation and policy implementation of the autonomous police system.
