All Top 10 World-Ranked Players Competing in Fierce Battle for Victory
The U.S. Women's Professional Golf (LPGA) Tour is resuming its competition after a "3-week break."
The Ford Championship (total prize money $2.25 million), held over four days starting on the 27th (local time) at the Wildfire Golf Club (par 72, 6,661 yards) in Chandler, Arizona, is the battleground. This tournament takes place three weeks after the Blue Bay LPGA, which concluded on the 9th at the Jenlake Blue Bay Golf Course in Hainan Province, China. The winner's prize is $337,500.
Lee Mi-hyang is aiming for redemption. She debuted on the LPGA Tour in 2012 and has won twice. She recalls finishing tied for 3rd place, three strokes behind the leader, last year. At that time, she demonstrated consistency over four days with scores of 69-70-64-68. Lee Mi-hyang has participated in four tournaments this year and has advanced to the final round in all of them. Her best result for the 2025 season is a tie for 21st place at last month's HSBC Women's World Championship.
Korea has an impressive 22 players entered, including Lee Mi-hyang. Ko Jin-young, Yoo Hae-ran, Yang Hee-young, Kim Hyo-joo, and Yoon In-na are among those challenging for the title. Last month's opening champion Kim A-rim is the first to eye her second victory. This tournament, marking the resumption of the LPGA Tour on U.S. soil, features the world's No. 1 and defending champion Nelly Korda (USA) leading the top 10 players. Other contenders for the title include Jin Young Ti-tikun (Thailand), Lydia Ko (New Zealand), Lin Runing (China), and Hannah Green (Australia).
