A wildfire broke out in Eonyang-eup, Ulju, Ulsan, prompting the forestry authorities to issue a Level 1 wildfire alert.
According to the Central Accident Response Headquarters of the Korea Forest Service on the 25th, the Ulju wildfire occurred at 11:55 a.m. in the Songdae-ri area of Eonyang-eup, Ulju-gun, Ulsan City.
The Korea Forest Service issued a 'Level 1 wildfire alert' at 2 p.m. and urgently deployed three wildfire suppression helicopters, 40 wildfire suppression vehicles, and 361 wildfire suppression personnel to the site.
Currently, a southwesterly wind with an average speed of 4.3 m/s is blowing at the scene. The total fire line is 2.3 km, and the wildfire-affected area is estimated to be 11 hectares. The current containment rate is 22%.
The Central Accident Response Headquarters of the Korea Forest Service stated, "We will do our utmost to quickly extinguish the wildfire by mobilizing firefighting personnel and equipment."
