Noh Jongmyeon: "Full Committee Meeting to Be Convened After Legislation and Judiciary Committee Is Completed"
The Democratic Party of Korea announced on the 26th that it plans to convene a full committee meeting at the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee to review and process a resolution urging the impeachment trial of President Yoon Seok-yeol.
On the 25th, Roh Jong-myeon, the Democratic Party floor spokesperson, told reporters after a closed-door floor strategy meeting held at the Gwanghwamun tent office, "The Legislation and Judiciary Committee schedule has been set for the 26th," adding, "The resolution urging the impeachment trial of President Yoon will be reviewed at the Legislation and Judiciary Committee subcommittee and the full committee meeting."
He stated, "Once the Legislation and Judiciary Committee schedule is completed, a full committee meeting will be convened in the name of 75 National Assembly members, which is one-quarter of the total members," conveying the Democratic Party's intention to pass the resolution at the full committee meeting.
The full committee meeting can be convened before or after the plenary session if at least one-quarter of the total members request a review of major agenda items. However, the Speaker of the National Assembly may, if necessary, decide not to convene the full committee meeting with the consent of the representatives of each negotiation group.
