[2026 CSAT] First Mock Test on June 3... Increasing EBS Linkage Perception

Excluding Questions Favoring Private Education Training
Maintaining Appropriate Difficulty Within the Scope of Public Education

The June mock exam, which allows for understanding the question-setting policy of the 2026 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT), will be held on June 3.

The Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation announced on the 25th that the mock exam is conducted to provide examinees with an opportunity to diagnose their academic ability and to maintain an appropriate difficulty level by assessing the academic level of those planning to take the 2026 CSAT.

In the June mock exam, the institute plans to exclude questions that favor students trained in private education problem-solving techniques and maintain an appropriate difficulty level so that students who have faithfully received school education within the scope of public education and supplemented with EBS-linked textbooks and lectures can solve the problems.

In particular, this year’s mock exam will enhance the perceived linkage with EBS. The linkage between EBS CSAT textbooks and lectures and the mock exam questions will be conducted indirectly, and the perceived linkage will be increased by utilizing materials such as charts and passages included in the linked textbooks. The linkage rate will be maintained at about 50% based on the number of questions per area and subject.

Following last year, the mock exam will maintain the 'common + elective subject' structure for Korean, Mathematics, and Vocational Inquiry areas, while English, Korean History, Second Foreign Language, and Chinese Characters areas will continue to use absolute evaluation.

For Korean and Mathematics areas, students take the common subject and select one elective subject per area. Korean elective subjects are ▲Speech and Writing ▲Language and Media, and Mathematics elective subjects are ▲Probability and Statistics ▲Calculus ▲Geometry.

The English area will have a total of 45 questions, including 17 listening questions, conducted within 25 minutes.

The inquiry area consists of Social Studies, Science, and Vocational Inquiry. Social Studies and Science inquiry areas can be freely selected, and to take the Vocational Inquiry area, students must have completed at least 86 credits in the industry-demand customized and specialized high school specialized subject II curriculum. Graduates before March 1, 2020, must have completed at least 86 credits in the vocational specialized subject curriculum (80 credits for those who graduated before March 1, 2016) to be eligible.

This mock exam is open to all examinees eligible to take the 2026 CSAT. Examinees who applied for the first high school graduation equivalency test in 2025 can also participate. The registration period is from the 31st of this month to the 10th of next month. Examinees other than current students must pay a fee of 12,000 KRW. Individual score reports can be collected at the registration site on July 1.

Additionally, for examinees who are unable to attend the test site on the day of the June mock exam due to unavoidable circumstances, an online testing opportunity will be provided.

After the exam, objections to questions and answers can be submitted from June 3 to 6 through a dedicated bulletin board on the Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation website.
