Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province (Governor Jeon Jin-seon) announced on the 24th that Jang Hyun-taek (former chairman of Shinpung Pharmaceutical) was registered as a new member of the Yangpyeong-gun Honor Society at the Honor Society induction ceremony held on the 20th.

The induction ceremony was attended by Jang Hyun-taek's family, Jeon Jin-seon, governor of Yangpyeong-gun, Kim Hyo-jin, secretary general of the Gyeonggi Social Welfare Community Chest, and 12 others. The event included a donation pledge ceremony for 100 million won and the presentation of the Honor Society certification plaque.
The Honor Society is a group of high-value donors who have donated 100 million won or more, established in December 2007 by the Community Chest of Korea (Fruit of Love) to promote individual donations and realize noblesse oblige. On this day, Honor Society member Jang Hyun-taek pledged to donate more than 100 million won over the next two years and was registered as the 363rd member in Gyeonggi and the 5th member in Yangpyeong Honor Society.
Honor Society member Jang Hyun-taek said, “I feel at ease after making the donation. I hope that many people will gain hope through this donation and that it will have a positive influence on our society. I also hope it can be of even small help to the neighbors in need in Yangpyeong-gun.”
Jeon Jin-seon, governor of Yangpyeong-gun, said, “I sincerely thank Honor Society member Jang Hyun-taek for participating in spreading the culture of sharing and providing a solid foundation for neighbors in difficult circumstances to nurture hope.
