Jeollanam-do has appointed Min Youngdon, a specialist in surgery, as the new director of Suncheon Medical Center for its 17th term. His term will run for three years, from April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2028.
Director Min graduated from Chosun University College of Medicine and has accumulated extensive experience in both the medical and academic fields, having served as the director of Chosun University Hospital and as president of Chosun University. In 2019, he contributed to research on gastric cancer treatment as president of the Korean Gastric Cancer Association. In 2009, he was selected by Forbes as one of Korea's Top 100 Doctors (Surgery).
Director Min stated, "I plan to focus on strengthening the public healthcare function of Suncheon Medical Center, attracting outstanding medical professionals through a broad human network, and improving the quality of medical services. In particular, I will do my best to enhance the positive brand recognition of Suncheon Medical Center by promoting the academic growth of medical staff in collaboration with universities and establishing effective marketing strategies."
Meanwhile, Jeollanam-do previously appointed Jung Giho as director of Gangjin Medical Center on the 6th.
