Kwon Seong-dong: "We Will Take the Lead in Voluntary Fundraising Campaigns"
Kwon Young-se, Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, and Kwon Seong-dong, Floor Leader, visited the memorial altar for the victims of the wildfire firefighting team accident in Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam on the 24th and pledged to do their best in wildfire suppression and damage recovery.
On the same day, the ruling party leadership, including Chairman Kwon and Floor Leader Kwon, visited the joint memorial altar set up at Changnyeong-gun Citizens' Gymnasium in Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam, for three Sancheong wildfire firefighters and one accompanying official, and offered flowers.
Chairman Kwon said, "I pray for the souls of those who lost their lives due to this wildfire damage and offer my condolences to the bereaved families," adding, "Although the wildfire is still ongoing, our party will cooperate with the government and local governments to do our best in wildfire suppression, and we will make every effort without any negligence in handling the damage recovery and the various difficulties faced by evacuees."
Floor Leader Kwon also said, "The government will support recovery efforts, including declaring the area a special disaster zone, but government support has its limits," and pledged, "Therefore, starting with our party, we will take the lead so that voluntary fundraising campaigns can arise from our companies and social organizations."
He continued, "Although the economy is difficult, we will actively ask our companies to participate so that the disaster victims affected by this wildfire can live with the warm affection of their neighbors, and we will do our best in this role."
Afterwards, Chairman Kwon visited the temporary shelter at Danseong Middle School in Sancheong-gun, and Floor Leader Kwon visited the temporary shelter at Uiseong Gymnasium in Uiseong-eup, Uiseong-gun, Gyeongbuk, to console the disaster victims.
