Prime Minister and Acting President Han Duck-soo returned to his duties on the 24th, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs began communication with major countries such as the United States, China, and Japan.


Regarding the Constitutional Court's dismissal of the impeachment motion against Acting President Han, Kim Hong-gyun, First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, spoke by phone with Joseph Yun, Charg? d'Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Korea, on the morning of the same day. Vice Minister Kim explained the Constitutional Court's decision to dismiss the impeachment motion against Acting President Han and expressed the intention to firmly maintain the Korea-U.S. alliance and further promote bilateral cooperation.

In response, Charg? d'Affaires Yun also emphasized the United States' unwavering support for the strong Korea-U.S. alliance and stated that they would continue to maintain close communication, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.


Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Jeong Byeong-won also held phone calls with Daisuke Miba, Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of Japan in Korea, and Dai Bing, Ambassador of China to Korea. Deputy Minister Jeong agreed to closely cooperate to ensure that bilateral relations continue to develop steadily.
