Gwangju Bank (President Ko Byungil) announced on the 24th that it held a ceremony to designate the 131st branch of the "Hope Blossoms Study Room" project, aimed at improving study spaces for children's centers and underprivileged households in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions.
The ceremony, recently held at the KYC Pureunkkum Regional Children's Center located on Yudal-ro in Mokpo, was attended by Ko Byungil, President of Gwangju Bank, Park Hongryul, Mayor of Mokpo, Byun Jeonggeun, Head of the Green Umbrella ChildFund Gwangju Regional Office, and other related officials.
"Hope Blossoms Study Room" is Gwangju Bank's flagship social contribution project, now in its 11th year since its launch in 2015. The project visits children's centers and underprivileged households in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions to improve study spaces and help children grow up in safe and pleasant environments. This year, with a budget of approximately 420 million KRW, the bank plans to support renovation work at about 42 children's centers in the Gwangju and Jeonnam areas.
The "KYC Pureunkkum Regional Children's Center," selected as the 131st branch of the "Hope Blossoms Study Room" project, is a child welfare facility that has been providing learning and care services to underprivileged children at the foot of Yudalsan in Mokpo for 21 years. With this support, the center replaced old and worn entrance doors to improve insulation, ensuring a warm environment during winter. Additionally, the entire exterior wall was newly painted to provide a clean and hygienic environment, and the heating and cooling systems were upgraded to create a comfortable study space both in summer and winter.
Park Hongryul, Mayor of Mokpo, said, "The interest and support from Gwangju Bank and the local community greatly contribute to brightening the future of our children. Mokpo City will also strive to ensure that this valuable support continues."
Jo Jeongim, Director of the KYC Pureunkkum Regional Children's Center, said, "Thanks to this support, children using the center can now study and grow in a safer and more pleasant environment. We will continue to do our best to help our children nurture their dreams."
Ko Byungil, President of Gwangju Bank, stated, "We will continue to provide unwavering support together with the local community so that our children, the future of our region, can nurture their dreams and let the flowers of hope bloom."
