Discussion on Gaeamdong Cherry Blossom Festival and Intensive Safety Inspection
Buan County in North Jeolla Province held the 1st Safety Management Committee meeting for 2025 on the 3rd floor main conference room of the county office on the 21st.
According to the county on the 24th, the Safety Management Committee was chaired by Buan County Governor Kwon Ikhyeon, with a total of 11 participants from 8 local disaster management agencies, including the county government, police, fire department, Korea Rural Community Corporation, Korea Electric Power Corporation, and the Korean Red Cross.

The committee deliberated and approved the 2025 Safety Management Plan (draft), the 7th Gaeamdong Cherry Blossom Festival Safety Management Plan (draft), and the selection of targets for the 2025 Buan County Intensive Safety Inspection (draft).
The 2025 Safety Management Plan is a statutory obligation designed to protect the lives and property of citizens from disasters and safety accidents. It includes comprehensive safety accident management measures, focusing on the county's safety management system, strategies to strengthen disaster management capabilities, and detailed countermeasures for 41 types across three main areas: natural disasters, social disasters, and more.
In-depth discussions were also held on the safety management plan for the 7th Gaeamdong Cherry Blossom Festival, to be held from April 4 to 6 next month along the Gaeamdong Cherry Blossom Road in Sangseo-myeon, Buan County, and on the targets for the 2025 Intensive Safety Inspection (107 sites in 9 facility sectors), which will take place from April 14 to June 13 next month.
Governor Kwon Ikhyeon said, "Spring is the season when local festivals are in full swing and large crowds gather, so proactive safety management against various accident risks is crucial. With the cooperation and interest of the committee members, we will build a stronger safety network and make Buan a place where everyone is safe 365 days a year."
