Continued Expansion of Scholarships and Research Funding
The Jeongam Foundation, established by the late Dr. Park Won-guk, former chairman of the Duksung Academy, has agreed to provide an annual scholarship fund of 40 million KRW to Duksung Academy.
Duksung Women's University announced on the 25th that Duksung Academy has signed an agreement to receive and manage an annual donation of 40 million KRW from the Jeongam Foundation.
The Jeongam Foundation is a corporate foundation established in 2002 with the approval of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education by the late Dr. Park Won-guk, former chairman of Duksung Academy.
The Jeongam Foundation has been providing research funds and scholarships amounting to 40 million KRW annually to Unhyeon Elementary School, Duksung Girls' Middle School, Duksung Girls' High School, and Duksung Women's University under Duksung Academy. Through this agreement, starting this year, the annual donation of 40 million KRW will be officially entrusted to the school corporation Duksung Academy.
At the signing ceremony, Jeongam Foundation was represented by Chairwoman Choi Mi-ri and Secretary General Kim Yong-ho, while Duksung Academy was represented by Chairman Lee Jong-gu, President Kim Geon-hee of Duksung Women's University, Principal Kim Seong-chan of Duksung Girls' High School, Principal Lee Yoo-seon of Duksung Girls' Middle School, Principal Choi Jae-seol of Unhyeon Elementary School, President Jeong Ki-hwa of the Duksung Women's University Alumni Association, and Secretary General Jo Moon-bae of Duksung Academy.
Chairman Lee Jong-gu said, "The late Dr. Park Won-guk generously dedicated his family fortune to the public cause of education amid the ruins following the Korean War, contributing to nurturing talented individuals. Duksung Academy will faithfully manage the fund in accordance with the donor's wishes."
