This visit was arranged to honor the longevity of the elderly and to promote filial piety and respect for seniors. Following a visit in January, the city made a second visit to the home of a centenarian to deliver congratulatory greetings and provided information about support programs such as customized care services and emergency safety services.
The 100-year-old elder, who maintains good health with the care of their family, said, “I am very happy to receive such a special birthday celebration,” and added, “I want to continue living healthily and spend good times with my children and neighbors.”
Mayor Kim Dong-geun emphasized, “Living healthily up to 100 years old is a blessing from family and the local community,” and stated, “We will continue to prioritize various welfare policies so that our elders can enjoy a comfortable old age.”
Since 2019, the city has been operating the ‘100th Birthday Celebration Fund Support Project’ as an independent program for longevity elders, and plans to support a total of 25 people this year. Additionally, the city plans to create opportunities for communication by thoroughly checking whether there are any inconveniences in daily life and health.
