The ‘Safe Village Creation - Disaster Response Experience School’ was planned to strengthen citizens' ability to respond to emergencies during disasters and to provide an opportunity to grow as prospective volunteers. The program included ▲ response methods during disaster situations ▲ disaster evacuation workshops ▲ cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) ▲ safety monitoring activities.
In particular, the Guri Fire Station Women’s Volunteer Fire Brigade and the Guri City Veterans Association Women’s Volunteer Group, who practice safety-related volunteer activities, participated as project leaders, conducting the program and carrying out safety management volunteer activities.
A citizen who participated in the activities said, “Recently, disaster accidents have occurred frequently, but through today’s training, I learned how to respond quickly without panic in sudden disasters, and I think it will be helpful in real life as well,” adding, “I will also try to help citizens if an emergency occurs.”
Chairman Baek Kyung-hyun said, “Through today’s activities, I hope to strengthen disaster response capabilities and ask for active volunteer work to ensure citizens’ safety in the event of a disaster.”
Meanwhile, the Guri Volunteer Center operates an integrated volunteer support group, leading the creation of a safe Guri City through prompt and efficient volunteer work during disasters.
