‘Safe Lease Contract Assistance Service for Single-Person Households’
Housing Safety Manager Provides Consultations and Accompaniment for Property Viewings
Yongsan-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Hee-young) is expanding the operation of the ‘Safe Lease Contract Assistance Service for Single-Person Households’ to support single-person households facing difficulties in real estate contracts.
Starting this month, the district has extended the operating hours of the ‘Safe Lease Contract Assistance Service for Single-Person Households’ to 1:30 PM?8:00 PM twice a week (Mondays and Thursdays), allowing usage into the evening hours.
This service was initially operated only during daytime hours in its first year of implementation in 2023, but since April last year, Saturday operations (by prior reservation only) were added, receiving high interest from single-person households who find it difficult to secure time on weekdays. As a result, 206 consultation cases were provided last year alone.
The ‘Safe Lease Contract Assistance Service for Single-Person Households’ aims to support young adults and vulnerable single-person households with little real estate contract experience to prevent unfair situations during lease contract processes.
A Housing Safety Manager (licensed real estate agent) familiar with local community conditions conducts direct consultations and accompanies clients when viewing properties, checking for overlooked details and contract safety that might be missed when visiting alone.
The main support includes lease contract consultations (preventing issues such as “empty shell leases” and illegal building rentals), housing search assistance (providing lease market prices and surrounding information), accompaniment during property viewings, and guidance on housing support policies.
The service is provided through one-on-one face-to-face or phone consultations with the Housing Safety Manager and accompaniment during property viewings, all conducted by prior application and reservation. If accompaniment during property viewing is desired outside regular operating hours, support can be arranged through schedule coordination with the Housing Safety Manager on weekdays or weekends.
Residents wishing to receive consultation can contact the Yongsan-gu Office Real Estate Information Division at 02-2199-6940 or apply via the Yongsan-gu Office website under Sector Information > Real Estate/Land > Safe Lease Care Information Plaza.
District Mayor Park Hee-young stated, “Since real estate contracts are a process of securing an important foundation for life, preventing damage is of utmost importance,” and added, “We will provide practical assistance so that single-person households can search for homes with greater peace of mind.”
