Achieved Gold Rating in Top 5% of Global Corporate Environmental and Social Impact Assessment
Hyundai Transys announced on the 24th that it has achieved the Gold rating for two consecutive years in the EcoVadis sustainability assessment.
EcoVadis is a global sustainability assessment organization that evaluates companies' environmental and social impacts. It assesses over 100,000 companies across more than 170 countries in four categories: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement, awarding Platinum (top 1%), Gold (top 5%), Silver (top 15%), and Bronze (top 35%) ratings.
Hyundai Transys, which received a Silver rating in its first EcoVadis assessment in 2022, was recognized for its progress and improvement efforts in each evaluation category from 2023, advancing to the higher Gold rating.
In the 2024 assessment, Hyundai Transys maintained the Gold rating for the second consecutive year by receiving high evaluations in the labor and human rights and sustainable procurement categories, which are awarded only to the top 5% of companies.
In the labor and human rights category, Hyundai Transys conducts human rights impact assessments at 20 domestic and overseas business sites, covering non-discrimination, industrial safety assurance, prohibition of forced and child labor, and protection of the human rights of local residents and customers. The company manages human rights risk checks and human rights management status, thereby raising employees' awareness of human rights and respect for diversity to prevent human rights risks in advance.
In the sustainable procurement category, Hyundai Transys expanded its target from 15 partner companies in 2021 to 165 partner companies in 2024, providing ESG-related education and strengthening evaluations. Additionally, to enhance partners' capabilities, the company operates systems for production and process improvement and a technical data escrow support system to protect technology, leading efforts to build a sustainable supply chain.
Furthermore, Hyundai Transys established the goal of "100% renewable energy transition by 2040" in 2021 and is promoting a transition to 64% renewable energy by 2030 and 100% by 2040. Currently, it is producing and consuming renewable energy by installing solar power facilities through On-Site PPA at domestic and overseas business sites and plans to expand the application sites.
Jodonggi, Head of Planning at Hyundai Transys, said, "By maintaining the EcoVadis Gold rating for two consecutive years, our company's efforts in sustainable management have been internationally recognized. We will strive to create a sustainable parts ecosystem that can grow together with the supply chain across all business areas."
