Deloitte Korea Group announced on the 24th that it will jointly host a seminar with the Korean Accounting Association on May 9th under the theme "The Future of Corporate Governance in 2025: Domestic and International Environmental Changes and Effective Response Strategies."
The seminar, held at The Forum (3rd floor) in Two IFC, Yeouido, Seoul, is designed for outside directors, audit committee members, auditors, and chief executives (CXOs) of domestic companies to reexamine the roles of the board of directors and audit committees and to explore effective response strategies. Amid growing demands for enhanced transparency in corporate management and advanced governance, the seminar will discuss ways to respond to changes in corporate governance in 2025 and strategies to effectively address global environmental changes and regulatory tightening. Additionally, by reflecting changes in domestic and international legal regulations and the latest trends, it is expected to provide practical insights to outside directors and audit committee members.

The seminar consists of a total of five sessions. In the first session, Cho Dong-chul, President of the Korea Development Institute (KDI), will deliver a keynote speech on "Domestic and International Economic Environment and Outlook." President Cho will analyze major trends and future prospects of the global and Korean economies and provide insights necessary for companies to establish management strategies based on this analysis.
In the second session, Kim Han-seok, Head of the Corporate Governance Development Center at Deloitte Korea Group, will present on "Global Board Trends and Financial Correlations of Excellent Governance Companies." Director Kim will analyze the key tasks of audit committees in 2025 and the impact of corporate governance on financial performance.
In the third session, Son Hyuk, Chairman of the Internal Control and Governance Improvement Committee of the Korean Accounting Association and Professor of Accounting and Taxation at Keimyung University, will give a lecture on "The Importance of Accounting Experts in the Internal Accounting Control System." Professor Son will introduce the impact of increased expertise of accounting professionals on enhancing transparency and reliability in corporate accounting processes.
In the fourth session, Lee Seung-young, Tech Solutions Leader at Deloitte Korea Group, will present on "Case Analysis for Preventing Fund-related Incidents and Strategies to Strengthen Internal Controls." Leader Lee will propose ways to effectively manage risks related to fund fraud and strengthen internal control systems.
In the final session, Jang Jeong-ae, Advisory Committee Member of the Corporate Governance Development Center at Deloitte Korea Group and Professor at Ajou University School of Law, will discuss "A Review of Recent Amendments to the Commercial Act." Professor Jang will analyze the positive and negative impacts of the Commercial Act amendments passed by the National Assembly plenary session on March 13 on corporate management and governance, and deeply discuss the direction companies should take in the changed legal environment.
