Delivery of 1,111 Happiness Boxes Containing Medicines and More
Chairman Ham Youngjoo: "We Will Support Local Communities and Customers Affected by Fire to Return to Daily Life"
Hana Financial Group announced on the 23rd that it will donate a total of 1 billion KRW to support the rapid recovery and aid for disaster victims in large wildfire-affected areas across the country, including Sancheong in Gyeongnam and Uiseong in Gyeongbuk.
Additionally, the group plans to actively provide financial support at the group level for individuals and businesses affected by the wildfire.
Hana Financial Group will deliver 1 billion KRW in donations to the Community Chest of Korea for relief activities and damage recovery, and support 1,111 Happiness Boxes containing relief supplies such as medicines, hygiene products, and daily necessities including ready-to-eat meals.
Ham Young-joo, Chairman of Hana Financial Group, stated, "We will do our utmost to help the local communities and customers affected by the unexpected fire damage return to stable daily life as soon as possible," adding, "All members of Hana Financial Group will unite their efforts to provide diverse and practical support so that disaster victims can overcome the damage and stand back up."
First, Hana Bank, a major affiliate, will provide new funds such as emergency management stabilization funds up to 500 million KRW for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), mid-sized companies, and individual business owners affected by the fire, and up to 50 million KRW for individuals. It will also extend loan maturities up to one year without principal repayment upon maturity of existing loans, and defer installment repayments for up to six months.
Furthermore, comprehensive financial support will be provided, including preferential interest rates within a range of up to 1.3 percentage points for SMEs, mid-sized companies, and individual business owners affected, and up to 1.0 percentage point for individuals.
In addition, Hana Card will offer financial support such as up to six months’ billing deferral for credit card payments, installment repayment for up to six months, and a 30% discount on fees for long- and short-term card loans used within six months after the wildfire damage date.
Hana Life Insurance will defer premium and insurance loan interest payments for up to six months and expedite insurance claim payments related to wildfire damage as quickly as possible.
Hana General Insurance will provide financial support such as advance payment of up to 50% of estimated insurance claims even before accident investigations are completed for wildfire-related claims, and defer premium payments for long-term insurance policyholders affected by the wildfire for up to six months.
Meanwhile, Hana Financial Group has continuously carried out sincere ESG activities to coexist with local communities facing difficulties due to disasters, including emergency group-level support for recovery from the fire damage at Seocheon Special Market in Chungnam in January last year.
