Changwon Special City Launches Family and Youth Volunteer Corps, Begins Sharing Initiatives

Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam officially launched its volunteer activities by holding consecutive inauguration ceremonies for the 'Changwon Family Volunteer Group Nanumi' and the 'Changwon Youth Volunteer Group' at the Changwon Volunteer Center.

The inauguration ceremony, held on the 22nd, was a meaningful event where families and young people gathered to practice sharing for the local community. The annual activity plans for each volunteer group were shared, and the event included the presentation of appointment certificates and the introduction of group members.


After the ceremony, the Family Volunteer Group carried out a 'sharing activity', while the Youth Volunteer Group conducted 'leader election, volunteer education, plogging, and an environmental protection campaign', reaffirming their commitment to sustainable community development.


Notably, during the event, a sharing activity for 20 single-parent and unmarried mother households was organized using donations contributed by Cho Youngseop, a Nanumi Family Volunteer Group member and recipient of the LG Humanitarian Award, adding greater significance to the inauguration.


Cho Youngseop stated, "Although it is a small gesture, I hope this sharing brings hope to families in need," and added, "I will continue to engage in volunteer activities that fulfill my social responsibility."


Members of the Family Volunteer Group and the Youth Volunteer Group who attended the ceremony said, "It is meaningful to be able to contribute to the local community as a family or as young people," and expressed their aspirations, "We want to provide practical help to Changwon citizens through consistent activities in the future."


Hong Soonyoung, Director of the Autonomous Administration Bureau, said, "I am confident that the Changwon Family Volunteer Group and Youth Volunteer Group will create positive change in the local community," and added, "We will continue to provide unwavering support in the future."


Meanwhile, starting with this inauguration ceremony, Changwon Special City plans to actively support various volunteer activities involving families and young people, taking the lead in spreading a culture of sharing in the local community.
