General Construction Headquarters Discusses Transparent and Fair Management of Construction Projects
Cooperation with Local Companies and Creation of a Safe Working Environment Also Addressed

The Gwangju City General Construction Headquarters announced on the 22nd that it held a 'Construction Site Integrity and Communication Meeting' at its headquarters on the 21st to establish a culture of integrity and strengthen communication at construction sites. The meeting was attended by more than 50 stakeholders in construction projects, including public officials supervising the works, contractors, and supervisors.
The meeting included an 'Integrity Improvement Training for Construction Sites' by Lim Daejin, Head of the Integrity Planning Team at the Gwangju City Audit Committee, as well as an open discussion session to listen to difficulties faced at construction sites and to discuss potential solutions.
Mr. Lim explained essential laws and regulations that must be observed at public construction sites, such as the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act and the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act, and shared actual cases of violations, emphasizing the importance of anti-corruption and ethical management.
During the open discussion, participants exchanged a variety of opinions on transparent and fair project management, win-win cooperation with local companies, and the creation of a safe working environment. Based on the opinions shared at the meeting, the General Construction Headquarters plans to implement various follow-up measures to foster a culture of integrity in construction.
Shin Jaeuk, Head of the General Construction Headquarters, said, "Enhancing transparency and fairness in construction projects is fundamental to trustworthy administration. We will continue to foster a culture of integrity in construction through ongoing communication and cooperation, and will expand regular opportunities for dialogue."
Meanwhile, Gwangju City is establishing a collaborative system among the main departments, the General Construction Headquarters, and experts from the project planning stage to enhance transparency at construction sites and establish a culture of integrity, thereby improving the quality of construction projects.
