Hwaseong City Successfully Holds 'Hwaseong Special City Citizens' Day' Commemoration Ceremony

Celebratory Concert Also Held at Dongtan Yeoul Park

Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province held the '25th Hwaseong Special City Citizens' Day Commemoration Ceremony' on the 21st at Sintex to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the city's elevation and the inaugural year of the special city launch.

This commemoration is the first Citizens' Day since the launch of Hwaseong Special City. The city organized the event to share a new leap forward and future vision with its citizens.

The event was attended by key figures including Go Gi-dong, Acting Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Shin Jeong-hoon, Chairman of the National Assembly's Administrative Safety Committee, Choi Kyung-sik, Mayor of Namwon, Yan Yan, Deputy Secretary of the Yan Cheng City Government in China, as well as approximately 1,500 citizens.

In his commemorative speech, Hwaseong Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun said, "Hwaseong Special City is a great city created by the efforts and dedication of 1.05 million citizens," adding, "We will realize 'The Completion of My Life, Hwaseong Special City,' which fulfills the life of each and every citizen." Mayor Jeong also expressed his ambition to strengthen the city's competitiveness by creating workplaces, living spaces, and resting places that stand shoulder to shoulder with world-class cities.

The ceremony, which opened with a classical performance by the National Police Symphony Orchestra, proceeded in the order of ▲reading of the Citizens' Charter ▲awarding of meritorious citizens ▲screening of a commemorative video and the Namsan Seoul Tower lighting ceremony video ▲Mayor Jeong's commemorative speech and congratulatory speeches from guests.

Mayor Jeong stated, "Hwaseong Special City will leap beyond Korea to become a world-class city," and added, "We will open the path of hope and challenge together with our citizens."

Meanwhile, at 7 p.m. that evening, a Special City Citizens' Day celebration concert will be held at Dongtan Yeoul Park. The concert will feature performances by artists such as Jaurim, Lee Mujin, Ahn Chi-hwan, and Yeohaeng Sketch.
