Praised for Initiatives Such as the "One Company, One Public Official" System
Jeonju City has been selected as the top institution in the "2024 Creating a Business-Friendly Jeonbuk" evaluation organized by Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province, and will receive a reward of 60 million KRW.
According to the city on the 21st, Jeonbuk Province annually selects and awards outstanding local governments that improve the business environment in the region through the "Creating a Business-Friendly Jeonbuk" evaluation.
This award is recognized as a result of the city's proactive policies to attract and support businesses, as well as its efforts to create a business-friendly environment.
In this evaluation, the city was recognized for its excellent achievements in various areas, including: ▲Operation of the "One Company, One Public Official" system (258 out of 296 reported difficulties resolved) ▲Expedited processing of permits and licenses (6 cases handled, 4 cases with a 50% reduction in processing time) ▲Securing budgets and public projects to support SMEs (14 national budgets, 4 public projects, 1 fund established) ▲Support for business development funds (21 billion KRW, interest subsidy rate 3.0~3.5%) ▲Business trend reports (6 regular, 8 occasional) ▲Promotion of SME product purchases (SME purchase rate 87.7%).
In particular, the city operated the "One Company, One Public Official" system to provide customized administrative support and quickly resolve business difficulties. Through this, major issues faced by companies were swiftly addressed, and the city also operated a rapid processing team to simplify business permit and licensing procedures, significantly reducing processing times.
By expediting the review process for steam pipe installation between Huvis and Mirae Paper, the city was able to reduce the construction period by about six months. In addition, the city actively secured national budgets and public projects to support SMEs, providing substantial benefits to local businesses.
Through securing national budgets and attracting public projects, the city provided a total of 36 billion KRW in support to 389 companies, helped 231 companies develop new markets, and created 127 jobs. Through the operation of business development funds, 21 billion KRW in loans were provided, and the interest burden for companies was reduced to 3.0~3.5%.
This year as well, the city plans to further strengthen cooperation with the central government and Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province to enhance the investment environment for business attraction and lay the foundation for sustainable economic growth, continuing to provide practical support for businesses.
