Gijang County in Busan (Governor: Jung Jongbok) held the inauguration ceremony for the Gijang County Citizens Football Club, a non-profit corporation, at the Chasung Art Hall in Gijang County Office on the 20th.

At the inauguration ceremony, over 300 people, including club owner Governor Jung Jongbok, Park Hongbok, Chairman of the Gijang County Council and county council members, Park Jongcheol, member of the Busan Metropolitan Council, Lee Seungwoo, member of the Busan Metropolitan Council, attended to celebrate the official launch of the Gijang County Citizens Football Club.
The event proceeded in the following order: ▲inaugural address (congratulatory speech) ▲introduction of the football club's advisory committee, executive committee, and board members ▲introduction of the U12 youth team ▲introduction of K4 football club head coach Choi Jinhan and players.
In his inaugural address, Governor Jung Jongbok said, "We will provide active support so that the Gijang County Citizens Football Club can elevate the status of Gijang County and grow together with the local community through the unity of our residents."
The 'Gijang County Citizens Football Club' is a flagship sports project promoted by Gijang County to revitalize community sports and foster local pride. It originated from a policy proposal by the 8th Gijang County Governor Transition Committee in 2022, and was established this year after going through preparations such as enacting ordinances and securing a budget.
The 'Gijang County Citizens Football Club' is comprised of club owner Governor Jung Jongbok, three coaches, and thirty players. As the representative football club of Gijang County, it will begin its full-fledged activities in the K4 League starting this year.
With the slogan 'FOR THE FUTURE, GIJANG', the club aims to become a team that breathes and grows together with the citizens of Gijang, giving their all in every match and striving for a better future.
Having already played three matches, the club has demonstrated the passion and potential of a new team. In particular, under the leadership of inaugural head coach Choi Jinhan, the club's strong organizational power and fiery passion for challenge are expected to create a sensation in this year's K4 League.
The first home match of the Gijang County Citizens Football Club in the K4 League will be held on Sunday the 30th at Jeonggwan Sports Healing Park against FC Yeoncheon.
