"Water Companies, Come to Daegu National Industrial Complex"... Daegu City and Urban Development Corporation Go All Out to Attract Businesses

Daegu Urban Development Corporation (President Jeong Myungseop), in cooperation with Daegu City, jointly participated in the International Water Industry Expo (WATER KOREA 2025) held at KINTEX in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province, from the 19th to the 21st, to attract companies to the National Water Industry Cluster located in the National Industrial Complex in Dalseong-gun, Daegu.


The International Water Industry Expo, hosted by the Korea Water and Wastewater Works Association, has been held annually since 2002 as a specialized exhibition in the water industry sector. Alongside the exhibition of water and wastewater equipment, a variety of related events such as seminars, conferences, and business meetings are held simultaneously, bringing together promising water companies from across the country, government officials, universities, research institutes, and overseas buyers in one place as a hub for water industry business.

Daegu Urban Development Corporation and Daegu City jointly promoted the sale of industrial land in the National Water Industry Cluster, located in the Daegu National Industrial Complex in Dalseong-gun, Daegu, targeting more than 210 water companies participating in the event. Notably, on the second day of the event, at a seminar hosted by the Korea Water Technology Certification Institute, a Daegu City official presented Daegu’s water industry development policies and support projects to promote overseas expansion of water companies, in front of over 100 participants including company representatives, domestic water industry academia, public institutions, and overseas stakeholders, actively working to attract outstanding water companies to Daegu.


This joint attraction activity is expected to accelerate the attraction of companies to the National Water Industry Cluster, and if outstanding water companies are attracted, it is anticipated to invigorate the regional economy through industrial development and job creation.


The Water Industry Cluster Corporate Complex in the Daegu National Industrial Complex is currently home to 39 water companies, including Namu Co., Ltd., JTech Water Co., Ltd., and Naegang Industry Co., Ltd., which were attracted last year, showing a 72% occupancy rate. Daegu Urban Development Corporation and Daegu City are planning to launch the first half of 2025 land sale in May.


Jeong Myungseop, President of Daegu Urban Development Corporation, stated, “We will continue to actively promote corporate attraction activities together with Daegu City to attract excellent water industry companies and do our utmost to revitalize the local economy.”
