Impact of 'Trump's Second Term' Tariffs? Gwangju KEF Concludes Friday Breakfast Meeting

The Gwangju Employers Federation (Chairman Yang Jinseok, Chairman of Howon Co., Ltd. and Happiness CC) announced that on the 21st, it held a Friday Breakfast Forum at the Convention Hall on the 3rd floor of the Holiday Inn Gwangju Hotel, inviting analyst Kim Byungyeon to give a lecture under the theme "The Impact of Trump’s Second-Term Policies on Korea" and the subtitle "The Influence on Local Automotive Companies."

The Gwangju Employers Federation has been greatly contributing to revitalizing the local economy by inviting prominent figures and experts from various fields to provide a platform for education and exchange on topics such as economy, management, culture and arts, and AI (artificial intelligence). For more details regarding forum attendance and membership in the Gwangju Employers Federation, please contact the External Cooperation Headquarters.

In his lecture, analyst Kim Byungyeon explained, "The Trump shock, as a factor for strengthening government stimulus measures, has already caused Korea's growth rate to lag behind major advanced countries," and added, "During the Trump administration's second term, the home appliance sector suffered some damage."

Yang Jinseok, Chairman of the Gwangju Employers Federation, said, "To minimize tariff burdens, the best strategy is to minimize export volumes from Korea to the US and from Mexico to the US, while maximizing production in the US. Since vehicles like the Sportage, which are produced at the Gwangju plant, are also manufactured in US factories, export volumes may decrease to some extent."
