Jeon Hyun-hee "Han Deok-soo before Yoon? Hope it's a build-up to impeachment approval"

"Deliver the Impeachment Ruling on the President Without Delay"
Jeon Hyun-hee Criticizes the Constitutional Court for Breaking Its Promise to the People

Jeon Hyun-hee, a Supreme Council Member of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized the Constitutional Court, which decided to deliver the impeachment ruling on Prime Minister Han Duck-soo before President Yoon Seok-yeol, saying, "They promised to prioritize the impeachment ruling on President Yoon but have not reached a conclusion for three weeks," and added, "They have broken their promise to the people."

On the 21st, on MBC Radio's 'Kim Jong-bae's Focus,' Jeon said, "Isn't there a first-in, first-out principle that cases filed earlier should be handled first?" and pointed out, "Since the impeachment motion against Prime Minister Han was filed after President Yoon's, it is proper to deliver the ruling on Han after President Yoon." She continued, "There is concern that the Constitutional Court is being swayed by the sophistry claimed by the People Power Party or conservatives," and said, "I want to interpret this as a buildup to a decision to accept the impeachment of President Yoon."

Regarding the People Power Party's claim that the second trial ruling on Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung's violation of election laws should take precedence over the impeachment ruling on President Yoon, she said, "It feels like the Constitutional Court is following the demands of the People Power Party." Jeon argued, "Requesting the court to decide on Prime Minister Han's impeachment before President Yoon's, and to make the impeachment ruling after Lee's second trial, are both demands from the People Power Party," and added, "The Constitutional Court is effectively aligning itself with the People Power Party's demands."

She said, "Showing adherence to principles and promises is the duty of the constitutional guardian institution and an obligation to the people," and added, "The people are in despair, and the country's economy is collapsing. I once again request that a unanimous dismissal decision on President Yoon be made as soon as possible."
