"Making the Memorial Hall a Landmark"
Busan Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs (Director Namil Lee) held a 'Digital Exhibition Opening Ceremony' at the Busan UN Peace Memorial Hall on the 19th.
The opening ceremony was attended by key figures including Heewan Lee, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs; Namil Lee, Director of the Busan Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs; Junghoon Kim, Chairman of the International Peace Support Group Council; Junseung Lee, Deputy Mayor of Busan; Euntaek Oh, Mayor of Nam-gu; Seongbu Seo, Chairman of Nam-gu Council; and Nolan Barkhouse, Consul at the U.S. Consulate in Busan.
The introduction of this digital exhibition is part of a project targeting four national memorial halls that have been open for more than 10 years. The UN Peace Memorial Hall has been newly renovated with a large-scale introduction of immersive experience content utilizing cutting-edge technology. Various digital exhibition techniques have been applied to allow visitors to vividly experience the history of UN forces' participation during the Korean War.
In his commemorative speech, Heewan Lee, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, stated, "This year marks the meaningful 75th anniversary of the Korean War, and I hope the UN Peace Memorial Hall will be newly established as a symbolic place for international remembrance." He further emphasized, "In particular, the 'Wall of Alliance' photo zone and the immersive content representing the 22 participating countries will become landmarks of the UN Peace Memorial Hall."

The 'Wall of Alliance' photo zone provides a more immersive experience for visitors by installing LED walls on three sides: left, right, and rear. In addition, digital technology has been used to display the history and key photos of each participating country, as well as to set customized flag screens for each nation, allowing visitors from UN member countries to more vividly feel their country's contributions.
The Busan Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs also announced plans to further strengthen cooperation with UN member countries and to promote various cultural projects to remember and express gratitude for the sacrifice and dedication of veterans, together with the international community.
