...Contributing to the Establishment of the Gwanak-type Integrated Care Ecosystem
...Full Enforcement of the 'Integrated Support for Local Care Act' Including Medical and Nursing Services from March 2026

Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Jun-hee) has achieved the remarkable feat of being selected for both care-related public projects hosted by Seoul Metropolitan Government, securing a total project fund of 130 million KRW.

This public project aims to discover care services reflecting regional characteristics to provide prompt and appropriate assistance to vulnerable groups. It called for applications from all 25 autonomous districts of Seoul for the '2025 District Specialized Care SOS Service' and the '2025 Integrated Care Support Center Pilot Operation.'

Gwanak-gu was ultimately selected after passing the ▲first round of document screening and ▲second round of face-to-face committee evaluation, recognized for its comprehensive capabilities through proactive response to community care needs and differentiated strategies.

Accordingly, the district secured a total of 130 million KRW in project funds, including 55 million KRW for promoting the Care SOS specialized service and 75 million KRW for piloting the Integrated Care Support Center, signaling a green light for establishing the Gwanak-type integrated care system.

With a single-person household ratio of 62.6%, the highest nationwide, and a high proportion of welfare recipients and vulnerable groups within Seoul’s districts, Gwanak-gu requires a customized integrated care policy for prevention and management that covers all age groups from youth to elderly.

Therefore, the district plans to establish a ‘one-stop integrated care work system’ from discovery to support and focus on ‘specialized projects for medical and care blind spots.’

First, in the '2025 District Specialized Care SOS Service' sector, the district will implement the ‘Together in Daily Love Care’ project, a specialized initiative to help vulnerable groups recover their health.

Specific project details include ▲‘Welfare Equipment Support’ to aid vulnerable groups’ recovery immediately after accidents or surgeries, and ▲‘Special Diet Support Project’ for vulnerable groups requiring urgent dietary management due to conditions such as diabetes and hypertension.

In the 2025 Integrated Care Support Center Pilot Operation sector, under the slogan ‘Smart Integrated Care City Gwanak, Continuing Life Where I Live,’ the district will pursue nine key tasks across three major strategies to establish a one-stop integrated care system.

Specific project details include ▲establishing the Gwanak-type one-stop integrated care promotion system, ▲systematizing medical, health, and care services & promoting Gwanak-type specialized projects, and ▲expanding public-private cooperation networks.

The district expects that by building an integrated care ecosystem, residents in need of care will be able to access welfare services to improve their quality of life, and by fostering a care-based local community, residents’ bonds will strengthen, significantly reducing care gaps.

Meanwhile, ahead of the full enforcement of the law on integrated support for local care such as medical and nursing services in March 2026, the district is fully committed to building a ‘Gwanak-type integrated care ecosystem’ tailored to local characteristics by utilizing excellent health and welfare infrastructure and proactively responding to the changing welfare demands of residents.

District Mayor Park Jun-hee said, “With this selection, we expect to develop into an advanced welfare country-type integrated care model that allows residents to continue a stable life where they currently live. Ahead of the enforcement of the Integrated Care Support Act (abbreviated), we will accelerate efforts to integrate individualized services through interdepartmental cooperation so that all residents in need of care can enjoy an equitable integrated care environment without exclusion.”
