Democratic Party South Gyeongsang Provincial Committee Launches Relay Head-Shaving to Demand Yoon's Dismissal

The South Gyeongsang Provincial branch of the Democratic Party of Korea has launched a relay head-shaving protest, calling for the dismissal of President Yoon Suk-yeol.


On the afternoon of the 20th, Lee Gyuseop, a Jinju City Council member from the Democratic Party, shaved his head in front of Jinju City Hall while attending a rally urging the dismissal of President Yoon.

Lee stated, "In front of the democratic citizens of Jinju, who have continued the struggle for Yoon Suk-yeol's dismissal for 108 days, I urge for a swift ruling on Yoon Suk-yeol's removal," before shaving his head.


On the 21st, Cho Geumje, Vice Chairman of the South Gyeongsang Provincial branch, will also shave his head at the same location.


In a statement released that day, the provincial branch said, "Today marks the 108th day since the outbreak of the December 3 Martial Law," and added, "As projections suggest the ruling on dismissal may be postponed to next week, the public continues to experience anxious days."


The statement continued, "There is already sufficient justification for impeachment," and insisted, "The Constitutional Court must promptly set the date for the ruling and dismiss Yoon Suk-yeol."
