Obigo Signs Game Publishing Agreement with German Game Company 'Pamobi'

Through this contract, Obigo has secured the publishing rights for vehicle-optimized games developed by Famobi. Obigo will take on overall roles including developing the in-vehicle game platform, optimizing game performance, and integrating with automakers. Famobi will provide and maintain over 300 games developed based on HTML5 and the Android Automotive Operating System (AAOS).

An Obigo representative stated, “We will supply Famobi’s highly polished games to automakers in the form of an option subscription service (FoD) to secure additional revenue from game content,” adding, “In the future, we plan to sequentially introduce games optimized for the vehicle environment, including not only casual games but also racing games utilizing the car steering wheel.”

Headquartered in Germany, Famobi is an HTML5 game specialist company established in 2014, possessing over 100 games. It has commercialized casual games with over 1 billion cumulative downloads and more than 35 million monthly active users (MAU). Famobi has partnered with Harman and Cariad to provide games to BMW and the Volkswagen Group.

Based on its track record of commercializing numerous casual games in vehicles, Obigo plans to integrate various genres of games, including Microsoft (MS) subsidiary Xbox and Famobi games, into vehicles. Additionally, it aims to expand its market share of in-vehicle game platforms by supplying game platforms optimized for domestic automakers’ global models.

Hwang Do-yeon, CEO of Obigo, said, “We will preoccupy the early-stage in-vehicle game market and establish a unique position,” adding, “In line with the transition to SDV, we will leap forward as a leading SDV service platform company specialized in vehicles and users, offering games, video streaming, music, radio, artificial intelligence (AI), and more.”
